Continuing Students
Apply using your CalNetID. The 2024-25 application is now available for returning students.
Newly Admitted Fall Freshmen, Fall Program for First Semester Students (FPF), and Transfer Students
You will be able to apply after making the Admission Deposit to accept your offer of Admission and activating your CalNet ID (don't be alarmed if you can't log in immediately). This does not hurt your chances of getting an assignment, since all new first-year undergraduate students (including FPF) who apply by the deadline have priority for housing! Login below with your CalNet ID, once you have it.
Graduate Students
Graduate Student Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, based upon the date the application is received by UC Berkeley Housing. If you previously lived in UC Berkeley campus housing as an undergraduate, you may have difficulties applying for graduate student housing due to a known software issue involving your status in Cal Central. Please send an email to graduatestudenthousing@berkeley.edu so that a member of the UC Berkeley Housing team can manually update your status so that you can apply for graduate student housing.
Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholars fellows should first create an account using the self-registration process. Click the following link to self-register: Self-Register.
Family Student Housing Applicants
Apply using your CalNetID. UC Berkeley students enrolled in part time, weekend, or online professional degree programs are not eligible for Family Student Housing.
Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholars fellows should first create an account using the self-registration process. Click the following link to self-register: Self-Register.
